The cruise industry’s biggest players converged in Miami from April 7–10 for Seatrade Cruise Global 2025, and this year’s event truly captured the energy, innovation, and future-forward vision of the industry. From groundbreaking new ship launches to cutting-edge technology reveals and sustainability initiatives, Seatrade offered a fascinating look at what’s next for cruising worldwide.

F&B@Sea set the tone for culinary innovation, honoring excellence in cruise food and beverage with the 2025 F&B@Sea Awards, sponsored by Campari Group. Top honors included Best Restaurant for Atlas Ocean Voyages’ Porto, Most Sustainable F&B Program for Hurtigruten Norway, Best Beverage Program for Holland America Line, and F&B Maverick recognition for Sami Kohen of Princess Cruises. Supplier winners spotlighted trailblazers like Babylon Micro-Farms and Aquafab, showcasing the industry’s move toward sustainability and innovation.

Century Cruises made a strong impression during their debut at Seatrade Cruise Global 2025, showcasing their impressive evolution into China’s most experienced and sophisticated cruise company on the Yangtze River. With over 30 years of heritage, Century Cruises has built a global reputation for offering luxurious, eco-conscious voyages that blend immersive cultural exploration with personalized service. In just the past four years, they have launched four state-of-the-art vessels — Century Glory, Century Victory, Century Oasis, and Century Voyage — all purpose-built to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Their innovative design and sustainability efforts have earned widespread acclaim, including the SeaTrade Award for Cruise Innovation in 2023, the Magellan Travel Award for Century Oasis, and the title of Asia’s Best River Cruise Line for four consecutive years (2021–2024). At this year’s event, David Fredricks, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, joined a featured panel to highlight Century’s story and future ambitions as they expand their reach and continue setting new standards in luxury river cruising.

LG Electronics unveiled major cruise-specific technology innovations, including upgraded Marine Grade DVLED outdoor displays, cruise-ready smart TVs with integrated casting, and tailored digital signage solutions for guest cabins, decks, gyms, retail spaces, and more. Their cutting-edge Pro:Centric SMART platform and enhanced outdoor DVLED screens are set to transform onboard entertainment and operations.

HX Expeditions (formerly Hurtigruten Expeditions) made a splash with a special Seatrade event, previewing their sustainable, science-driven adventures to over 250 global destinations. With industry-first initiatives like eliminating heavy fuel oils and hosting scientists aboard their ships, HX solidified its role as the most sustainable expedition cruise brand.

Transcend Cruises announced the names of their first two new river cruise ships: Transcend connect and Transcend evolve. Specifically designed for the B2B charter market, these ships promise fully customizable experiences for groups, with innovative venues like a two-story amphitheater and convertible suites for flexible configurations.

DCT Abu Dhabi also made a strong impression, sharing news of Abu Dhabi’s booming cruise tourism sector, which welcomed over 693,000 visitors in 2024. With expanded facilities, new visitor programs like the Abu Dhabi Pass, and partnerships such as the upcoming Celestyal Discovery homeporting, Abu Dhabi is positioning itself as a premier cruise destination well into 2030 and beyond.

As Seatrade wrapped up, one thing was clear: cruising is evolving faster than ever — blending technology, sustainability, customization, and elevated guest experiences to shape the future of travel at sea. We can’t wait to see what 2026 brings when Seatrade Cruise Global returns to Miami from April 13–16!
